Playing at the IOP

After arriving Saturday night at the IOP, we got settled in the condo. It was a nice trip down, despite taking several extra hours due to some accidents that slowed traffic on the way. After getting the critical stuff in to the condo, John took Emily out for a swim. They had a lot of fun but were not able to stay long due to it being cold due to the extreme wind. John said it was so windy, there were white caps in the pool. The next morning, we got up and had a very nice time at the beach. We could not have asked for nicer weather in July, but it was unusually windy, so we had to really anchor stuff down on the beach so it did not blow away. After we were finished with the beach,w e headed back to the condo and bathed the little ones. After they were settled, I took Emily back out to the Ocean Side pool for a while. While we were there, her favorite thing to do was throw her dive rings in and try to get them with her feet. She also really liked throwing ones in the deep in for me to get. After we had been there a little while, we happened to see Leslie and Blake. They were heading over to the Sea Cabins pool, but decided to try the one at Ocean Side so the kids could play. Blake and Emily had fun, but due to it still being very windy and the pool being shaded at that time, it was cold for the kids. So we headed back in for lunch and a break. That evening we played at the condo and had Leslie and Blake over to play for a while after dinner. The kids had a great time playing in the condo.

Monday morning we headed back out to the beach to enjoy a lovely day. The girls really enjoyed playing in the surf and digging in the sand. In fact the girls loved playing in the surf so much, it was hard to keep them from trying to go out further. After a nice time at the beach, we decided to head up to the pool for a little while following. The kids really enjoyed playing in the baby pool, but also were really in to getting int he big pool. After we had been playing for a while, Leslie, Blake, and Megan came out to the pool. At first we got in the baby pool with the kids. They really enjoyed playing with Blake's swimming Nemo fish and the various pool toys we brought. After a little bit in the baby pool, they were all anxious to get in the big pool so we got in and had a great time. Ansley was even up for Megan holding her some and letting Megan float her around.
That afternoon, My Dad, Katrina, Mason, and Sydney arrived. Once they were settled, we all met up later that afternoon and headed to IHOP for dinner. We had originally planned on going to the beach or having a cook out, but due to the weather, that was not possible. We all had fun at IHOP and then called it an evening.

Father's Day 2008

For Father's Day this year, John had been asking for a Lazy Boy. So on the Friday before Father's Day, I was able to take John to the Lazy Boy store and he had a lot of fun picking out his own chair.

On the morning of Fathers Day we ate breakfast at home, played some, and then headed to Ryans in Simpsonville to meet the Sizemore side for lunch. We were the first to arrive so we headed inside to wait for the others, who were soon to follow. We all headed towards the back to get a large table and enjoyed lunch. As the kids were starting to finish eating, they thought they would give out their gifts. As a group we had gotten Daddy a ride on the Banana Boat when we made our trip down to Charleston. In order to symbolize the ride, Leslie was able to pick up a cute boat and attach a banana behind it. Next Emily gave Daddy her gift. It was a bird house John made and Emily had painted. She was very proud of it and it seemed to be a hit. She also gave him a digital picture frame that was from us Jefferson. Since we had been very lucky with the little ones, we decided not to push our luck and head on home. That afternoon, the five of us headed to the pool for a very nice swim before dinner.

Chillin at Marn's Pool

On Saturday morning, John was still out of town, so the girls and I got read and drove over to Marna's house. Her and Jim were at the beach for the weekend, however they said we could use their pool. Where we arrived, Katrina was there to greet us. We all walked around to the back, lathered up with some more sun screen, and then headed towards the pool. Daddy had arrive, so he also helped us in getting the little ones in to the pool. Due to the major heat waver that has been going in, the water was quite comfortable. Ansley thoroughly enjoyed riding around the pool in her float and being carried by all of us. Bailey on the other had was a little discontent. She loved the water, but it is somewhat frustrating to her since she wants to be able to do what ever she wants. In a little bit, Leslie and Blake arrived and joined us in the pool. He was much the same way as Bailey in the he did not want to be in a float.

In a little bit, Daddy and Bailey went to McDonalds and Little Ceasars to get lunch. When they got back we ate and then got back in the pool for just a little bit. During this time, Leslie, Blake, and Emily all rode around the pool on a raft having a great time. Bailey played with Grandaddy, while Bailey decided to sprawl out on a noodle with Grandmommy. It was too cute to see her stretched out just holding her noodle behind her head.

Cooling off in the Heat June 6, 2008

Late this afternoon, the girls and I got on our bathing suits and played in the sprinkler. With our unusual heat waver, it was nice to do something cool. The girls had a great time. I also had the bubble machine going while was what Ansley played with most. Bailey and Emily each enjoyed taking containers and filling them with water. Emily kept dumping hers down the slide, where Bailey liked to drink hers.
