Easter Egg Dying

On Sunday afternoon, after nap time we all headed to the back yard in order to partake in a little Easter egg dying fun. I had boiled 2 1/2 dozen eggs that morning and put old t-shirts on the kids. We all huddled around the kids picnic table. Emily decided to try the first egg in the egg spinner. It seemed to be a hit and all the kids then took turns trying the egg spinner and painting the eggs with paint sticks. Emily's favorite thing seemed to be the spinner for a while and then moved on to the paint sticks. Ansley loved being meticulous with painting her eggs with the paint sticks. Bailey just loved making a mess and trying to eat the painted eggs, shell and all. I was thinking the first bit would deter her, but the taste test continued throughout the afternoon. After all the surviving eggs were dyed, I took the eggs, along with some plastic ones, to the front and hid them. They all loved finding eggs and we repeated the process until the little ones didn't want to give up their eggs to have them hidden again. So we then just enjoyed the beautiful day int he back yard.
